The World Health Day is a global health awareness day sponsored by World Health Organisation (WHO), and other related organisations. It is always celebrated on 7th April and this year the focus is on universal health coverage.
In light of this, we wanted to find out what health means to you – the great Health Bloggers Community:
Amy Meegan says “Health is more than just the food on my plate and the exercise I practice. It’s more than physical appearance and absence of illness. Health is the integration of wellness in the body, mind and soul and for that reason, the definition of “being healthy” is complex and differs for each and everyone of us. Focus on your version of healthy, not everyone else’s.”
Micah Siva believes “To me, health means that I have the energy, desire and ability to do the thing I love. It means that I have the power to say YES to opportunities, and the strength to say no. Health is a full body feeling, from my head to my toes, health means that I feel like the best version of me.”
Bex Stafferton thinks health is all about “Balance. It means enjoying what brings you joy, but that also supports and nurtures your body and mind. It is about understanding who you are and what you need to be the best you can be. It’s about caring how you spend your time on this earth and making that time last as long as you possibly can so that you can enjoy everything there is on offer to you.”
RomyLondon says that” Health for me is overall wellbeing – not just physically, but mentally also. Its also something very personal, what health feels like can be different for each and every person as so many puzzle pieces combined of our genetics, experiences and preferences come together to build the whole that is our health.”
