When did you start blogging, and what were your inspirations and intentions behind setting up your blog?
I started my blog in January 2017 when I was in a really low place mentally. I felt like I wanted a new creative outlet and writing helped me get my thoughts in order. As the blog developed I really wanted to help others feel good and healthy in order to live a happy life.
When did you begin to view your blog as more than just a hobby?
After six months of writing on Wellness & Wander, I was nominated for my first blogging award and it made me feel like I could possibly use my platform as more than just a hobby or outlet.
How do you manage brand partnerships?
It is a step-by-step process in order to make sure both parties are getting a fair deal from a collaboration. What I have learnt from my short time blogging is that a lot of people out there will try to get a lot of work from you but for the least amount of compensation possible. You need to think about how you value your time and work.
What skills/tips/tricks did you learn from taking the influencer training scheme?
From the training, I learnt how important correct disclosure is from both a legal point of view, but also to be completely transparent with your audience which creates trust.
What’s the biggest thing you have actioned since the training?
Using contracts when collaborating with others. It is so important to use these so both parties have an equal understanding of the work at hand, but also for reassurance that everything is ‘above board.’
I am very glad I decided to study this training programme with the Health Bloggers Community as it gave me a deeper insight into working with brands and legal requirements.
