I’m Caroline, mum of two teenage girls and owner of a small catering company called Your Undercover Cook.
I take real pride in my job and love creating bespoke menus for my clients but have always wanted to branch out, broaden my knowledge of healthy foods and expand my business in order to offer bespoke healthy meals that are scientifically backed up by solid nutritional advice.
As my girls reached their teens, I found I had more time on my hands, so armed with a lifelong passion for healthy ingredients, an inherent belief in the healing power of food, along with a frustrated confusion about what healthy eating actually means, I set out to find a nutrition course that would combine my passion for cooking with evidenced-based nutritional expertise.
After a year’s study, I now have a Diploma in Applied Nutrition and will be a qualified Nutrition Coach after having completed my course with Sano School of Culinary Medicine in London.
It was great using my brain again and fabulous to gain some scientific knowledge of human anatomy, understand how the human body works and see how foods can negatively or positively impact every cell in the body.
The course was so inspiring and I particularly loved the recipe development modules of the course as I could use my years of private catering expertise and recipe testing to create delicious bespoke menus that would directly improve a specific health condition.
My girls loved being the recipe testers and I would always get guaranteed honest feedback!
With all my new found nutritional knowledge and buzzing with healthy eating inspiration, I longed to spread the word about the therapeutic power of good food and teach others that creating healthy and delicious meals can be fun, easy and economical but most importantly really make you feel amazing.
There are so many conflicting messages in the media about exactly what a healthy diet is and I believe that people have become really confused, rather bored with cooking and don’t really know where to start when creating nutritious and balanced meals.
Spurred on by this thought, I set up Everyday Healthy Cooking with a friend and fellow chef back in 2018.
We run demo-based cooking workshops from our kitchens in Wandsworth teaching small groups how to create delicious, nutritious and balanced meals as well as educate why certain foods can have a beneficial, or damaging effects on health.
We have developed many classes including Healthy Food for Friends, Energy Boosting & Mood Food, Nourish your Family & ‘Not so naughty’ Sweet Treats.
Our aim is to inspire people to set aside proper time to create wholesome meals, cook from scratch with real ingredients, show them how easy it can be to make nutritious and tasty food, and explain why eating this way can make you feel and look fabulous.
Once I’m qualified as a Nutritional Coach I would love to work with private clients and make a difference to their health by creating bespoke menu plans and advising on healthy eating.
