The new year is a great time to reset in both body and mind. One of the best ways to physically reset is to nourish our bodies, something Borough Broth place at the heart of what they do, based on the traditions of ancient communities all over the world that prized the nourishment provided by a bowl of humble broth. They’re all about simmering low and slow, the perfect way to reset after a busy holiday period.
When it comes to resetting your mind however, it can be helpful to create a plan. With this in mind, we teamed up with Borough Broth to share some tips and tricks on how to plan effectively for 2019.
Asking the right questions is a great way to get started with a plan
A few things you really need to clarify include:
What do I want to do differently this year?
What to I want to achieve?
Are there any new products or services I want to launch?
How can l I grow my audience or impact in 2019?
For all areas, make sure you take enough time to create a 90-day plan with the key steps for you to achieve what you want to achieve. Remember, less is more. Make sure you have 2/3 areas of focus every quarter and 2/3 main goals throughout the year.
Automate and delegate
A few more questions for you:
Which tools are you currently using to help plan for your projects/goals?
Are there any tools you feel you need?
Which are the areas you are spending too much time on? Could you use some help?
Write down a list and look into some tools or strategies. Perhaps read a few blog posts from the bloggers and influencers you admire to see which strategies they use.
One strategy we think is essential is to plan and consider your holidays in advance. If you’re intending to go away it might be worth looking into tools that can help you schedule or automate some of the tasks you have to do each week, like a social media scheduler or email communication scheduler. It’s also worth taking into account the first day you’ll be back in action – there’ll be a lot to catch up on, so dedicate this day to emails, or meetings, and allow yourself time to go through the backlog. Then you can get cracking the day after.
Create a visual representation of 2019
Once again, it’s time to get crafty.
Having a clear vision as to what you want from the next 365 days is a great way to help you achieve your goals. Of course you don’t have to plan out each individual day, but having a few visual cues to remind you of your goals and the deadlines for those goals will help keep you on track. Get a mood board and a stack of old magazines, or a printer for your favourite pins, and get crazy with your mood board.
We also find that creating a more holistic way of HOW you want to run your life – especially outside of working hours – can be an incredible drive for your business or brand.
