Ali – The Power of Learning to Love Yourself
I’m a health coach and work predominantly with women to help them get out of their own way in terms of their health goals – weight loss, weight management and energy. I’m known as the butterfly coach as I help clients undertake major transformations.
How did I hit 45 and still not realise how special and loved I was? It’s taken me 50 years to really understand myself.
My journey of learning to love myself is short but inspired. I hit 45 and a life event pushed me right out of my comfort zone and into the spotlight. I realised I wasn’t prepared to stand there as I was and needed to find myself if I was ever to feel comfortable in my life. So many women have large corporate careers that are cut short by the arrival of children (that’s all good) but then find themselves playing small for years. I was one of them. It’s taken me a 5 year journey to learn to love myself again, to step into my greatness and to understand that if I want to change the world I need to change myself first. This is my journey. I’m sharing it so that your journey may be different.
Monika – Risk Being Alive
I believe that we are all equal and deserve to be loved by ourselves and by others exactly as we are. I am a film director, producer, photographer, writer and model whose goal in life is to promote that message through any and all creative means.
I would like to speak to the audience about the power of radical self-love and encourage everyone to humbly and respectfully assert themselves and declare their real worth to the world.
I used to be a social outcast, bullied from the age of 5. Even though I was always very creative, I felt worthless and that I didn’t deserve to be loved, which made me spiral into severe depression when I was 21.
For a year and a half, even though I was achieving external professional success, I felt broken and dead inside. I got the opportunity to travel when I started touring festivals with my short film. I got to speak to audiences promoting radical self-love and inclusion of that which is „other”. This made me want to travel the world and speak to people in many different countries and of different backgrounds and culture to help create a kinder, more compassionate society. I use my social media to prove to all people who are bullied or laughed at for their dreams that IT IS POSSIBLE to get past the hurt and go achieve whatever you set your mind to, if you love yourself enough and know that you are worthy.
Maria – Love Your Emotional Curves Too
I am a wellness & food blogger, specialising in creating plantbased recipes and promoting self-development and mindfulness. After struggling with anxiety for most of my adult life, I embarked on a journey of reinvention, from fear to love. My perception is changing every day and I want to share my lessons with those struggling with anxiety and self-doubt.
There is a lot of talk about self-love and acceptance, but most of it starts with our physical appearance. I found out that without loving your true, authentic self, none of our other perceptions can change. Anxiety, depression, mental health issues – all have one thing in common at the self-love level. Rejection. Of our selves.
Let’s become brave enough to get naked emotionally. Let’s look at it all and love it fearlessly: The shape of our heart, the edges of our mind, the curves of our emotions.
