As you may have noticed, we introduced a brand new series of live masterclasses following some of the topics from our courses – as well as topics voted by our members. One of these happened last week and revolved around creating a solid Instagram and IGTV for 2020.
Since Instagram keeps rolling out updates (seriously though, give us a break please!) as well as releasing features (did you say product launch stickers?), I thought I’d flag a few more things for you to sink your teeth into this month.
New IGTV series tool announced
Instagram just announced brand new tools to help creators start their own IGTV series!
Viewers can now binge-watch their favorite series and subscribe to notifications so they’ll never miss out on new episodes. The new tool is designed to give creators a chance to produce ongoing, long-form video content on IGTV – separate from other videos on their channel.

This is such a game-changer for your IGTV strategy, especially since it allows you to create new series and turn old videos into episodes as well. If you’re looking to get started and need more guidance on the how to, I’d recommend you check this Later guide.
Instagram is testing new following list categories
This is mainly to “help you manage the content in feed”. News leaked in from Social Media Today, with no actual date for when / how this will be released.
As you can see in the screenshots above, the option would automatically sort your following list into topics, like ‘Art’, ‘Comics’ and ‘Travel’. These listings would be based on the information provided by Instagram business pages – but in addition to topics, Instagram has also included lists of ‘Least interacted with’ and ‘Most shown in feed’, based on your individual activity.
My favourite category is, by far, the “least interacted with“, as I believe systematic and better engagement has been one of the best ways to grow Instagram these days.
