It’s that time of the year: we all get Merry and jolly, we consume mince pies and toast with glasses upon glasses of Prosecco.
Personally, I have always found Christmas and New Year to be a time of review, reflection and appreciation. Britain does it very well, as its traditions are somewhat simpler, more modest than most, yet heart-warmingly good.
No, I am not talking about the endless stream of Christmas jumpers dotting the streets.
The stocking, the mince pies, Doctor Who’s Christmas special.
It is this sort of little disciplines that remind me that, above all, as humans, we are here to really make a mark. Because we want to give meaning to the possibility we have been given: the opportunity to make a positive mark in the world.
Sometimes we forget why we want to make a difference: in a world that stimulates you by offering endless possibilities to become whoever you want to be, priorities may shift.
However, if there is one thing that I learnt this year is that you need to have fate in your vision.
It’s never about the how it’s always about the why.
The clear why allows you to attract what you truly want to do, and who you truly want to be.
Instead of obsessing over strategies, take more time to get clear on why you are doing what you are doing. Niche down – yes, that is totally fine – do less and get better at it.
Do what you do because you want to make a positive change: and not just because it’s that time of the year.
Chances are, if you are reading this, you are looking to reach more people with your message. To learn about the how. Let us help you with the how, and really focus on your why.
What is the HBC?
Learn how to make the most of social influence. Inspire people to make a positive change. Connect with likeminded people and discover brands who share your passion.
We embody the idea of working together, learning from each other, and empowering one another.
We share stories that follow the lives and careers of influencers and leaders, for fellow bloggers and influencers to action on their industry-insider tips and tricks. We also empower both brands and influencers to create long-term and meaningful relationships, as we truly believe collaborations should be more than a monetary transaction.
This is what I want…
I want influencers to inspire their audience every day to make a tiny positive change. I want people to feel empowered to make a difference. It’s a fucking powerful thing.
What I can do though is share the stories of remarkable people and inspire the thousands of people among our audience to encourage a positive change.
I want to educate people on how to value their work and get people to value it. Brands need to realise the power of social influence, as much as influencers should focus less on just putting a price tag on things, and more on creating a connection with brands they truly love.
