Claire from Medic_Mummy – About me
I am a fitness enthusiast, practising doctor, and mother to two young children. I am currently working as a GP registrar. I am extremely passionate about inspiring families to lead fit and healthy lives.
In my day to day practice, I am fortunate to be able to provide my patients with help and guidance in order for them to live as healthy a life as possible. However, my reach is limited to the patients I see in surgery, and the 10 minutes given for my GP appointments just simply isn’t enough to advise people in depth about how to be healthy.
The aim of my blog is to reach more people, and to encourage young families to lead fit and fulfilling lives by providing inspiration and information about food, nutrition and fitness. I will also be sharing a bit about how I am trying to be fit and active myself. The key to my ethos is that I give advice that is evidence-based and up-to-date with current research. I hope that by being a practising doctor, I am able to bring credibility and accountability to my blog, whilst still being accessible and relatable.
How I got into Blogging/Instagramming
I started my blog because I wanted to bring an evidence-based, scientific view of nutrition and fitness for families to blogging and social media. I also enjoy writing but find that my day job doesn’t allow for that creativity; blogging is the perfect outlet!

This was my very first blog post, and is a summary of why I feel so passionate about developing healthy eating habits and fitness from childhood.
