The evening was jam-packed, including a TheGirlGains workout and a mini run before sprinkling glitter all over our sweaty faces and refuelling with – far too many – polenta and sweet potato canapés.
We put our Adidas PureBoostx on for the workouts – which I found surprisingly comfortable, especially for our brisk run. Most girls got handy braids (my pixie cut forever missing out on the braid craze) and others spent the time taking pictures – yes, I know.
We kicked off the workout with the gorgeous trio of The Girl Gains. Zanna and Vic on the sides demonstrating, dancing and correcting our forms, and Tally instructing us on the HIIT moves.
Two words: jump lunges. Even if the booty walk is what prevented me from basic movements such as bending and squatting for a few days.
My favourite parts were the dance breaks. And not just because Tally’s playlist was on point, or because the three second push ups made me cry internally.
After re-hydrating and a few selfies, the whole crew moved outside for a 3.67km run to the Active in Style store. Needless to say, every crossing was welcomed with a cheer by me and my companion. I am only human. Quite happily, the shoes and their foamy goodness proved to survive the run; I was drenched, yet my knees and feet have never felt lighter.
To welcome us at the Active in Style HQ we had a photo-booth, fresh juices, a glitter bar and canapés – did I mention the photo-booth?
A few too many sweet potato fritters later, I felt vaguely human once again. I indulged in one spongy muffin and I was fully fuelled up… At least enough to venture to the photo-booth. We had the chance to lust over some active wear, chit chat with fellow fitties and Instagram the night away.
