It’s coming…. cupid’s got his bow and the chocolates and flowers are in every store. Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us.

Here at the Health Bloggers Community we think Valentine’s Day should be all about love too – the love of food! Nourishing yourself from the inside out, we’re bringing you five tasty recipes from our wonderful Community that will get your heart racing.

Triple Chocolate Baileys Cheesecake

From the sounds of the name it feels impossible that this can have anything good for us in it… but Vee from Vee’s Fitness & Food has made this incredibly tasty Valentine’s dessert with oats, nuts, coconut cream and cacao powder. And a few other things too… check out the recipe here.

Beetroot risotto

Valentine’s isn’t all about the chocolate. Anita from Ana Y La Passion is serving up this gorgeous pink beetroot risotto, dive in to the recipe here.

Red Velvet Pancakes

Coming to your health Valentine’s Day rescue is Pollyanna from The Fit Mum Formula with a whole menu of dishes to serve your loved ones! We’d love to try the Red Velvet Pancakes from Menu 2… check out the recipe here.

Cashew Coconut Truffles

These Cashew-Coconut truffles are totally, nuttily, awesome, in the words of their creator Roslyn from Flex Fit Dance.

They contain just 5 main ingredients and are full of healthy fats and protein. A great alternative to heavily processed (and over-priced) Valentine’s chocolate, you can whip up a batch in just 30 minutes. And then eat them in about 5. Get the recipe here.

Lemon and Strawberry Cheesecakes

If your Spanish is strong then check out this recipe video from Pilar at Nutrien3 for heart shaped cupcakes with a fruity zingy filling. Pilar recommends this recipe for a romantic breakfast in bed!
