What does it take to be a health blogger? Do you have to constantly have a green smoothie in hand, workout five times a week, sprinkle spirulina on everything, and never let a deep-fried chip touch your lips? No, of course not. Even we love a bar of dairy milk chocolate and glass (or three!) of wine. Here to show that being healthy isn’t prescriptive is our team of balanced and beautiful health bloggers, who have kindly agreed to share with us their typical day. {HINT: they’re not balancing bowls of nice cream on their feet whilst doing headstands!}

Tara from Fabulously Made Up shares with us her typical day.

Meet Tara

Wife, mommy of two girls. Have PKU (rare genetic condition: Phenylketonuria). Foodie and lifestyle blogger. Creator of messes and food. Interior designer.

My typical day

Morning is a quart of ice water with a mug of hot Yerba mate while I get the girls their breakfast. Usually checking emails and social accounts while they are eating. Then it’s smoothie making time, and playing with food time. Usually take some photos with the help of one or both girls.

Lunch time for all of us (often whatever recipes we have been trying out or smoothie bowls) then nap for my youngest.  My oldest has been skipping nap time recently, so sad!! But she usually helps me out, baking/cooking/photographing… we will cuddle for a little down time, may try and catch up with social media. Once everyone is up, we do snacks and if it’s nice out, we go for a long walk or run.  If it’s not nice (currently winter) we do dance parties indoors.  We incorporate dancing and cleaning as well when it is time to pick up for the day…makes it more fun and good exercise for all!

We all make dinner together (often a pasta or rice bowl with veggies and yummy sauces) and devour it pretty fast, then a little playtime before bubble baths for the girls and get them through to their bedtime. Once they are down, my husband and I get some time to finish up our work for the day, I am usually going back over photos, writing blog posts, or other random social media things. Also try and get in a little workout – sometimes weights/kettlebells/punching bag or running/rowing on a machine.

Sometimes we will try and watch a movie, if we aren’t too tired after we are finished with our work.  I always end the day with a hot mug of detox tea and more water… then off to bed!

The mantra I live by

The devil whispers “you won’t survive the storm.”  The warrior replies, “I am the storm.”
